"We were trying to make captioning available for every (Department of Theatre) performance so that it was an option for all, at all times. I chose CCTheater for its ability to be completely self-sustaining. I appreciate that the input matches the output— meaning that there are no limitations to how often we can provide these services if we put in the effort. Having autonomy around building the captioning scripts is also a big plus! 

Working at a University, there is a huge pedagogical element, not just with operating the software, but with students observing the process during tech and seeing the final result integrated into a performance.  Having just used CCTheater to caption a musical in the spring, the options to add musical notes or include multiple lines on one screen proved to be very useful.

A silver lining for me personally has been how much more connected I feel to the work we're doing (and to the students who are doing it) and how much that enhances my ability to speak to our audiences about the productions.
